2023 BUOY 10 SALMON CHALLENGE RULES
August 25, 2023 Clatsop County Fairgrounds

Team size can be 1-7 per team (including captain and any guide).

Only tournament registered anglers are allowed on tournament boats, with the exception of press. Members of the press must be registered as such before August 15th with NSIA and will be required to always wear a visible identifying badge. In compliance with the American with Disabilities Act, the derby allows an assistant to be present on the boat, but the assistant is NOT allowed to fish, unless also entered in the derby. Boat maximum capacity limitations must be adhered to.

The Tournament fishing area includes - Waters between Buoy 10 to the upper end of Rice Island. You may launch at the following facilities: Hammond, Warrenton, East or West Mooring Basin, Chinook or Ilwaco.

The ocean is ABSOLUTELY off limits. Tournament anglers are required to follow all ODFW and WDFW Regulations. Jack salmon are not legal below Tongue Point. Only retention of adult hatchery Chinook (longer than 24-inches), and retention of adult hatchery Coho (longer than 16 inches) allowed.

The daily bag limit is 2 adult salmonids, (hatchery Chinook & hatchery Coho only) and may include up to one hatchery Chinook. All steelhead must be released, All wild fish must be released unharmed.

BIG FISH CONTEST: Largest single hatchery salmon weighed will win a $500.00 gift certificate to Fisherman’s Marine & Outdoor. Big fish will be counted as the largest single salmon weighed. Fish weights will be counted to the nearest 0.01 pounds. MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN. Sponsored by D&G Bait Company

MYSTERY FISH $500– Each legally caught hatchery fish brought in by an angler will receive a mystery fish raffle ticket, bag limit per angler is 2. The winner of the Big Fish Prize is not eligible for the Mystery Fish Prizes. Raffle tickets will be drawn for mystery fish prizes including gift cards, this provides dozens of chances to win incredible prizes! Sponsored by Duckworth & Weldcraft.

Weigh In and Win! Scales Will Open at 3:00pm until 5:00pm. Fish not signed in at the scales at 5:00pm will not be eligible for prizes (weigh in slips in hand). The tournament official, Don Swartz, will have the official time. Participants are required to gut and gill ALL FISH (gills must be completely removed), prior to weigh in. Completely remove gills.

The banquet room opens at 4:00pm. Beer and wine will be available. Dinner is at 6:00pm and is included in your tournament entry. Prizes, Raffles, Auctions & Awards will be announced after dinner.
You must be present to win.
